This featured Image of the Month, "Fractal from the Third Domain," was made by Courtney Cox in Doug Mitchell's Lab. It is a gelrite plate with sulfolobus acidocaldarius culture that was incubated at 80C for 3 weeks where it dried to form the design.

Clayton to Lead Genomics of Neural and Behavorial Plasticity Theme

David Clayton is now the interim leader of the Genomics of Neural and Behavioral Plasticity Research Theme at the IGB. Clayton is a professor in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology and a part-time faculty member in the Beckman Institute NeuroTech Group. He is also affiliated with the Bioengineering Department and the Neuroscience Program.
